It specifically caters to tourists from Asia. While Gold Coast is considered a locals casino, it still draws a large number of tourists. It later became a Boyd Gaming property after Coast Casinos was acquired in 2004. It hosts 711 hotel rooms and 87,000 square feet of casino space. It is located on Flamingo Road about one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. Gold Coast was the first casino built to cater exclusively to the Las Vegas locals market.
